Bringing back the art of the handwritten note, one card at a time

Our Story

Welcome to Laurel Grove Press

There’s nothing quite like spotting a handwritten note in a mailbox full of junk mail and bills. Texts and emails have mostly replaced the art of note writing, but a real card in the mail still feels special. That’s why I started Laurel Grove Press: to make paper that’s fun to write on and even more fun to receive.

The shop is named after my daughter, Laurel, who arrived almost two months early on the first day of summer. During her long NICU stay, I wrote thank-you note after thank-you note to the friends and family who supported us so generously. I wanted cards that reflected my style, but nothing in the stores quite fit, so I started making my own. That’s how Laurel Grove Press began.

My maternity leave felt far too short after so many weeks in the NICU, and my very first Etsy order came in on my first day back at work. A few years later, I’ve paused my career in tech leadership. This little shop is where my creative energy goes now, in between time with my sweet Laurel, who amazes me every day.

Every set is personalized and made with care here in South Carolina. My hope is that these cards help bring back the art of offline correspondence, whether that’s a child writing their very first thank-you note or a friend sending a “just because” card.

If you have a question or a custom idea, send me a message. I’d love to hear from you!
